Tots hurt in grenade blast in Cotabato City


November 3, 2009 – Seven people suffered multiple wounds when a hand grenade exploded in a house resided by Sampulna family on Monday in Cotabato City in southern Philippines .

The Police authorities identified the victims as Bai Lani Sampulna, 4; Bai Ungge Sampulna, 6; Bai Pina Sampulna, 7; Norhaya Aziz, 10; Papaikan Mabang, 6; Pelma Aziz, 40; and Babo Angki Mabang, 70. Five of the wounded were minors.   
                                
The motive of the attack is still unknown. Resident said unidentified men on a motorcycle threw the grenade at a house in Rosary Heights and it exploded on the roof.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the blast. Police authorities who came few hours after the explosion are still investigating the motive of the attack whether it was connected to a family feud or a clan war.
